Signs Your Pet Needs to See an Emergency Vet

Please give our clinic a call at (859) 224-2287, or contact one of the emergency vets listed above if you see any of these signs in your pet:

  • Severe/non-stop bleeding
  • Gagging, choking, and/or difficulty breathing
  • Painful when touched
  • Sustained injury to one or both eyes
  • Straining or unable to pass stool or urine
  • Bleeding from the ears, nose mouth, or rectum
  • Blood in stool/vomit
  • Lameness or inability to walk
  • You caught your pet ingesting a rat poison, xylitol, antifreeze, or chocolate
  • No eating or drinking for 24 hours or more
  • Repeated vomiting/diarrhea
  • Abnormally high body temperature
  • Lethargic/disoriented, unable to stand upright
  • Loss of consciousness
